I have a site where the WP 4.9.3 update (released today) appeared to break some but not all of our custom css in WP Clips. I moved the custom blockquote code to WP Customizer Additional CSS which resolved the immediate issue, but I noticed that since the update WP is flagging Clips as an “invalid plugin” on the custom-style.css editor page and that’s new to me.
I thought I’d ask you if you had noticed any issues or is it just our site?

I am having the same issue.February 20, 2018 at 11:11 pm #4408
Hi Debra & Taylor
The issue is a new one resulting from the more advanced editor with WordPress. I’m assuming the “invalid_plugin” message is occurring when you’re trying to update the custom-style.css file. The reason this is occurring is that an alternative plugin is selected above the editor window. If you change it to WP Clips and then locate the stylesheet and update, it should be fine.
I’ll see if there is any way to tackle this issue and if there is, I’ll release a new version of WP Clips.
Thanks for letting me know.

I actually was not selecting a plug-in other than WP Clips and still had an issue. I’m primarily customizing my site to change the palette, text, etc, so I’ve been accessing the general css and php file to do so. Let me know if you find a solution, otherwise I will just practice version control.February 21, 2018 at 12:02 am #4413
I’ve been testing the WP Clips 2.0.2 plugin and there seems to be no issues other than the one I described (i.e. when the plugin is not selected in the box, but the stylesheet is onscreen – in which case it reads as inactive). I’ll see if I can find a fix. Thanks again.February 21, 2018 at 6:21 am #4415
Hi Debra & Taylor
I have updated the WP Clips plugin to v2.1.0. You can download it at wpclips.net
Please ensure you back-up your WP Clips plugin folder before performing any updates. And also note, if your server has been updated to PHP 7, you may need to enable the PHP ZIP module. Alternatively, you can perform the update manually.
Let me know if you are still experiencing issues.
