I just have one image on my slider as l didn’t want it to slide anymore.
But when my website loads the News and Releases (l don’t have featured porducts) loads first and the slider takes its’ time to load.
I would like the “slider” image to load first.
Is it because l should have more images or is the one image l am using too large?
The slider image should load at the same time as others on the page, however it will be the last to finish loading due to its size. Can you send me a link? I’ll see if there is anything specifically wrong.
I’m confused by your theme as it includes old theme files and new theme files. Oddly too, the stylesheet presents as ENVY PRO v1.4.0 but shows compatibility with Genesis v2.2 which it never did. Adding to this, the slider appears to be using old jQuery scripts (@since 1.1) which were updated to make the slider slightly more efficient in newer versions. The loading order is still the same, however speeds increased with the newer script.
It will be difficult to get the best out of the theme if it’s using a combination of old, new and modified files. However, if focussing on the slider, I would take a backup of what you have and then attempt to update all slider-related jQuery and CSS to the newer scripts and styles.
