I’ve noticed with recent WordPress update the functionality of picking a category with the category widget doesn’t work and shows the same posts no matter which category is picked; I’ve ruled out plugins. I’ve taken the widget out of the sidebar at client’s request, but we sure would like to get it working. Thank you.
Are you referring to product categories or general categories? What was the widget called? Either way, I’m almost certain it’s not a theme issue as the theme doesn’t regulate the functionality of the plugins, only the styling.
Further to last reply, it would be helpful if you could provide a link to a page which demonstrates the issue such that I can identify the cause. Thanks.

Sorry, I didn’t notice you’d referred to the widget name in the title. So, I’m assuming it’s the basic Categories widget. I just performed a test with the recent WordPress update applied, in both list and drop-down configuration, and all is working correctly. It’s a WordPress widget, so would be highly unusual to create an issue.
Have you tried clearing all your caches? Or perhaps, a plugin is causing the problem (although highly unlikely). Keep me posted and please send me a link to see if I can identify anything obvious that’s causing the issue.
Thank you, Jon. The client had me take out that widget as she didn’t want it there when it didn’t work. I was 99.9% it wasn’t the theme but wanted to double-check so I could tell her I did. I have a suspicion it’s something to do with Ontraport or PilotPress plugins the only 2 plugins I didn’t deactivate.. Have a fabulous weekend.
